Julia Williams is a researcher for the 10 Million Names project, where she works to uncover the genealogical history of enslaved African Americans. Being able to bring light to these abandoned and omitted histories is incredibly important to her as a descendant of enslaved African Americans from the North Carolina region. Julia has a background in research and museum studies, having received her M.A. In Museum Education from Tufts University. In addition to the New England Historic Genealogical Society, she's also worked for the National Park Service and the Leventhal Map & Education Center at the Boston Public Library.
