Dear sister and all my love!
First of all, dear Hannehen [daughter of the sister, it seems], I wish you the best of luck and blessings on your 5th birthday. May you celebrate this day many more times in full physical and mental vigor with your dear family. You have already passed half a hundred, it won't be long now either and there is a time attached to your birthday number, because time flies by like a storm. How are you all, I hope?
We are doing well so far. Since February 1st, I have been employed as a foreman in the company where I have been since August 1st. I had written to you a long time ago, but I didn't actually have the time. Or as they say . . .
