Prior to joining American Ancestors, Zoë worked as Exhibitions Designer at The Robbins House Museum of Concord's African American History. She curated an online exhibit on the life and letters of 19th-century freedmen’s teacher and civil rights activist Ellen Garrison Jackson, which will launch in early 2027. Zoë also worked as an archival consultant for Concord’s First Parish Church, where she researched the church’s ties to enslavement.

Zoë holds a PhD in English and Comparative Literature from Columbia University. She received an MSt in English from Oxford and a BA in English from the University of California, Berkeley. Her writing, much of which features archival research, has been published in venues like Callaloo: A Journal of African Diaspora Arts and Letters, English Literary History, ESQ: A Journal of Nineteenth-Century American Literature and Culture, and Women's Studies.
