Frederick Johnson & wife to Samuel Higby.
This indenture made the first day of July, in the Year Of our Lord One Thousand Eight hundred and Forty One. Between Frederick Johnson of Jackson, in the County Of Jackson Michigan of the first part and Samuel Higby Of the same place of the second part. Witnesseth that the said party of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred dollars, to him in hand paid by the said party of the second part, the receipt whereof is hereby confessed and acknowledged, has granted, bargained, sold, released, enfeoffed and confirmed and by these presents does grant bargain sell release enfeoff and confirm unto the said party of the second part, and to his heir and assigns forever, All that certain piece or parcel of Land situate lying and being in the village of Jackson, in the County of Jackson and state of Michigan known and decided on a map of said village made by Jonathan F. Stratton surveyor as the East half of Lot Number Fifteen in Block Number One, south of range number one nest Containing Thirty two square rods of Land be the same more or less: together with all and singular hereditaments and appurtenances thereunto . . .
