Gabriel Raeburn is a Senior Research Project Manager, primarily conducting research on the lives of those enslaved by Harvard University’s leaders, faculty, and staff, and enslaved individuals who labored on Harvard’s campus.
A historian of American religion and politics, Gabriel received a Ph.D. in Religious Studies and History from the University of Pennsylvania. Previously, he gained a M.St. in U.S. History from the University of Oxford and a B.A. in American Studies and Politics from the University of Sussex. Prior to joining American Ancestors, he was the Senior Research Fellow for the Harvard Slavery Remembrance Program. Gabriel is also an Associate Fellow of the History Design Studio at The Hutchins Center for African & African American Research at Harvard University.
