Zack has been a member of the research services team since 2014. As a native Rhode Islander, he specializes in conducting research in his home state as well as heraldic and royal ancestry and French-Canadian genealogy. He has given presentations for American Ancestors providing guidance on finding royal ancestry in your family tree.
Zack received his bachelor’s degree in history and political science from the University of Rhode Island, where he was a finalist for the Robert M. Gutchen Prize for the best undergraduate research paper for his capstone thesis, “Popular Crusades: The Will of God.” He received his master’s degree in Historical Studies with a concentration in Public History from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. Zack previously worked at the Rhode Island State Archives. In addition to his part-time position with American Ancestors, he is currently the Chief of the Office of Health Regulation with the Rhode Island Department of Health.
Zack is also the Vice President and Archivist of the Westerly (RI) Historical Society. In 2021, his first book, Great Stories from Westerly’s Past, was published, and he has given numerous presentations on local history.
